Elaine M. Scharfenberger, the mother of Albany (N.Y.) Bishop Edward Scharfenberger, who is a native of Brooklyn and a former priest of the Diocese of Brooklyn, died on Nov. 6 at her home in Warwick, N.Y. She was 99.
Sister Patricia Fox, O.P., a member of the Dominican Sisters of Amityville who taught at schools in the Diocese of Brooklyn, died on Oct. 23. She was 80. She entered the novitiate in Amityville, L.I., in 1959 and received her religious name, Sister Helen Marie, a year later.

Sister Marion McLinden, O.P., a longtime teacher in the Diocese of Brooklyn and a member of the Sisters of St. Dominic, the Congregation of the Holy Cross, Amityville, for 66 years, died on Sept. 20. She was 84.
