Dominican Sister of Peace Ann Davette Moran, O.P.

Dominican Sister of Peace Ann Davette Moran, O.P., a native of Brooklyn who worked in several places in the Diocese of Brooklyn, died on Dec. 11 at Sansbury Care Center in St. Catharine, Ky. She was 88.

Sister Ann Davette was a member of the Dominican Sisters of Peace for 67 years. She taught and was a counselor in several states. Her local assignments included teaching at Resurrection School and Little Peoples Play School in Brooklyn. She was also a teacher and part-time guidance counselor at St. Vincent Ferrer in East Flatbush, and she worked in the diocese’s drug prevention program there. She also served as a receptionist and grief counselor at Resurrection Parish in Brooklyn.

She is survived by one sister, Eileen Casserly, sister-in-law Margaret Moran and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral Mass was held on Dec. 19 at Sansbury Care Center Chapel. Burial followed in the St. Catharine Motherhouse cemetery.
