Shemar Latty, a senior guard on the St. Edmund Prep H.S. boys’ varsity basketball team, became the all-time leading scorer in school history on Feb. 18.

John Woods, who coached varsity basketball and baseball at Xaverian H.S., Bay Ridge, for 38 years, died on Feb. 1 at the age of 84. He was a member of the Xaverian and CHSAA Halls of Fame.

St. Joseph’s College Brooklyn, Clinton Hill, recently recognized 76 student-athletes who achieved a 3.5 or better grade point average during either the spring or fall semester of 2019.
