Camp Veritas is a week-long sleep away camp for Catholic middle school and high school students. They have several camps over the summer and for the past two years St. Sebastian’s Youth Ministry has gone to the August camp located on the camp grounds of Camp Lakota in Wurtsboro, N.Y.

In the midst of all the noise surrounding teenagers – from the virtual world of cellphones and technology, as noted by Pope Francis, to even the physical, saturated noise within the confines of New York City – the Steubenville NYC youth conference made its way once again to St. John’s University, Jamaica, July 20-22. Carnesecca Arena was filled to near-capacity with thousands of high school students from the tri-state area.
During a 10-week “Daughters of the King” program, young women from St. Sebastian, Woodside, discussed love, dating, sexuality, beauty, self-worth, chastity, modesty and how to be a strong, faithful woman in Christ.
If I could take away one thing from working with LOVE, HALLIE Foundation, it would be this: Young people truly have the capacity to get meaningfully involved in any cause they choose if they are provided the tools and resources to do so.

The Tablet, with the generous collaboration of the Archbishop John Hughes Knights of Columbus Council No. 481, invited youth from Brooklyn and Queens to participate in the annual “Christ Is Risen Easter Art Contest.”
More than 2,000 middle school and high school students from nearly 60 parishes across the diocese spent their Saturday at St. John’s University for Brooklyn Catholic Youth Day. Part day-retreat, part praise and worship concert, the full-day schedule was coordinated by the diocesan School of Evangelization.
