Fontbonne Hall Academy, Bay Ridge announced the creation of a new junior class retreat program called “Who is my neighbor?”
The program is rooted in one of the pillars of the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph – the expression of love for neighbor.
This unique retreat opportunity will offer Fontbonne juniors a point of access to the lives and stories of their neighbors in Brooklyn.
Every Friday, six members of the junior class, along with a faculty member, will spend the day volunteering at CHiPS (Park Slope Christian Help, Inc.), a soup kitchen that prepares meals for the needy. In addition to meals, the organization offers seasonal clothing, emergency pantry items and shelter for young mothers and their children.
