Teens Encounter Christ in Queens

“I am God’s Masterpiece”

It was two nights of spirit-filled prayer, praise and worship, testimonies, talks and fun entitled “Meet Me at the Well,” with youth members of a Queens deanery. The event took place in Jamaica on June 22.

The deanery consists of the parishes of: Christ the King, Springfield Gardens; Our Lady of Light, St. Albans; Sacred Heart, Cambria Heights; St. Bonaventure-St. Benedict the Moor, Jamaica; St. Clare, Rosedale; St. Clement Pope, Jamaica; St. Joseph, Jamaica; St. Mary Magdalene, Springfield Gardens; St. Pius V, Jamaica; and St. Pius X, Rosedale.

Youth ministers included Ashley Aldrige, St. Joseph; Jeff Hicks, Our Lady of Light; Peter Damour, St. Clare; Warren Rolling, St. Bonaventure-St. Benedict the Moor. Leaders teamed with Shaniqua Wilson and rolled up their sleeves to “meet at the well.”

Father Chester Smith, S.D.V. of Indianapolis, Ind. was the guest speaker. He encouraged the teens with his talk “I am God’s masterpiece,” reminding them of God’s grace, mercy and goodness.
