More than 200 student volunteers from St. Francis Preparatory School, Fresh Meadows, opened their school doors and their hearts to men and women with special needs from throughout Brooklyn and Queens.
Students at St. Francis Prep, Fresh Meadows, have distinguished themselves through the Advanced Placement Scholar Awards, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, the National Hispanic Recognition Program, the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists and the New York State School Music Association.
More than 14 ethnic clubs from our Fresh Meadows school came together to share their typical foods and dances with family, friends, guests and the rest of the St. Francis Prep community.

The Tablet, with the generous collaboration of the Archbishop John Hughes Knights of Columbus Council No. 481, invited youth from Brooklyn and Queens to participate in the annual “Christ Is Risen Easter Art Contest.”
The Catholic Youth Organization of Brooklyn and Queens will host its annual Hall of Fame Mass, dinner and induction ceremony June 1 at the Immaculate Conception Center.
On Saturday, March 24, I attended the March For Our Lives event in Manhattan in support of those students and teachers who lost their lives in the school shooting in Florida.
