Dear Editor: I may sound ‘doom and gloom’ but there has been scandal in the Church since the beginning (“Church Moving From ‘American Problem’ to American Solutions on Clergy Abuse,”March 2).

There have been wars from time immemorial! People have committed heinous crimes against their neighbor since Cain and Abel! Sad commentary on the history of the human race!

Sorry to say that humankind does not learn from the past. Jesus must be crying.  This can turn around if we, each one of us, simply follow the teachings of our Savior.  He showed us the way by His example! The beatitudes say it all. So simple yet so hard!
