Investors Bank’s new branch in Bensonhurst has formed an alliance with St. Athanasius Church. Each time a customer opens a promotional-rate, deposit account at the 18th Avenue branch, Investors Bank will donate $25 to the parish. Investors Bank’s COO Domenick Cama and Msgr. David Cassato, St. Athanasius’ pastor, have joined together on several projects to support the Diocese of Brooklyn’s schools. Seek the intercession of St. Rocco at Our Lady of the Snows parish, N. Floral Park. In anticipation of his Aug. 16 feast day, the parish honors this patron of the sick and suffering with a novena starting Aug. 5 at 3 p.m. in the church.
The novena culminates Aug. 13, with a 3 p.m. Mass, followed by novena and street procession. Father Jeremy Canna, parochial vicar at the parish, will be the main celebrant and homilist.

Morgan has been the director for GEAR UP at St. John’s for the past 14 years. The mission is to serve as a vehicle to enable academically and/or economically disadvantaged students to graduate middle and high school and pursue post secondary education.
Through a range of academic and social support services, GEAR UP provides students with a solid academic foundation that will put them on the path to careers and long-term success.

Indoor Soccer at St. Dominic’s
The Spanish Community of St. Dominic’s parish, Bensonhurst, concluded its Indoor Soccer League season with a championship game, July 16. The league was formed in dedication to the Blessed Mother, and is comprised of men, ages 20 to 40. Before each game, participating teams pray the rosary in church.
