Correction on Letter

Dear Editor: I wrote a letter which you published (May 7) about opioid addiction. While I appreciate your publishing this, it did contain a major misprint.

Tributes to Father Berrigan

Dear Editor: I have just returned from the wake and funeral Mass in Manhattan for Father Daniel Berrigan, S.J. He was a moral giant and, like Father Des Wilson, Father Raymond Murray and Father Joseph McVeigh, a brother and great friend of the Irish in the North who want to rid England of its last colony, forever. Dear Editor: I was so saddened to learn of the death of Sister Mary Cecilia Giannitti, a Sister of St. Joseph for 72 years. An accomplished musician, she opened the door to classical music to thousands upon thousands of Catholic high school teenagers for many years.

Gift of Blood Donations

Dear Editor: Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio in conjunction with the New York Blood Center held a appreciation event with awards for the many groups that ran blood drives.

First, he released the chains barring the doors that confined the poor, the immigrants and perhaps some refugees in the steerage compartments. For a few moments, they were physically free […]

Get Smart About Opioids

Dear Editor: In response to Joe Heller’s cartoon about opioids (April 23), kudos!
