Dear Editor: Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio in conjunction with the New York Blood Center held a appreciation event with awards for the many groups that ran blood drives.

I am Grand Knight of St. Anastasia Knights of Columbus Council No. 5911 in Douglaston and we run two blood drives a year.

The bishop’s event took place at Immaculate Conception, Douglaston, on April 20.

The Bishop thanked our Council for its efforts.
