The Tablet’s Former Business Manager Gives Back to Bright Christmas Fund

Matthew Schiller knows all too well the kind of difference Bright Christmas makes in people’s lives. Having worked as The Tablet’s business manager from 1973 to 1993, he was directly involved with the campaign and learned firsthand how the funds raised would help put a toy in a child’s hands and a smile on their face. 

DeSales Media Wins 36 Awards At Catholic Media Conference

The Tablet won best weekly newspaper of the year among Catholic publications at this year’s Catholic Media Conference in Baltimore June 9, where the newspaper, along with Nuestra Voz, Currents News, and DeSales Media, took home 35 other awards for print, graphics, videos, and digital work from the past year. 

Tablet Readers Line Up for Book Highlighting History of Diocese

Arlene and Tom Jablonski were among the folks who lined up in the vestibule at Our Lady of Angels Church in Bay Ridge on Sunday, Jan. 29 to buy “Chasing Church News,” the book by Tablet Editor Emeritus Ed Wilkinson — featuring photos from his 50 years of covering the Diocese of Brooklyn. Wilkinson signed copies of his book and touted the paper’s membership drive.

Sept. 11, 2001, was the worst day I ever spent in The Tablet office. As I approached 310 Prospect Park West where our offices were located, I heard the news on the “Imus in the Morning” radio show. Bulletin — a plane has crashed into the World Trade Center.
