Walking the Walk With the Pope

Catholic Charities from the Archdiocese of Washington D.C. invited the nation to #WalkWithFrancis through prayer, service and action as a welcome to the pontiff. In response, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens organized a physical walk on Sept. 20 and invited all parishes to collect food for the needy during the same weekend.

In Brooklyn, the Walk will begin at 4 p.m. at San Damiano Mission (Holy Family Church, Nassau Ave.) in Williamsburg and ends at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 6 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated and a reception will be held.

Teen News flash: VBCC Youth Leadership program and a Volunteer Opportunity at CCBQ

The VBCC Youth Leadership program is a select group of High School students (freshman to seniors) who have shown leadership qualities, and want to give back to their community and the Church. Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens is looking for senior high school students and college students in Astoria to provide tutoring and mentoring.
