Seek the intercession of St. Rocco this Sunday, Aug. 14 at Our Lady of the Snows parish, N. Floral Park. In anticipation of his Aug. 16 feast day, the parish honors this patron of the sick and suffering with a 3 p.m. novena and street procession, followed by Mass at 5 p.m. with Archbishop Bernardito Auza, permanent observer of the Holy See to the United Nations. Theo Joseph will be the guest speaker at a Night of Praise and Worship, sponsored by the diocesan Charismatic Renewal, this Friday, Aug. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, East Flatbush. Did you know? The Haitian Charismatic Prayer Group celebrates a monthly Mass in French Creole at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Queens Village. This month, the Mass is set for Aug. 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel.

The Brooklyn Irish American Parade Committee will observe the feast of Our Lady of Knock on Saturday, Aug. 20 at Holy Name Church, Park Slope. Members will gather to pray the rosary and crown the Queen of Ireland at 5 p.m., followed by 5:30 p.m. Mass. Afterwards, there will be a rose laying at the memorial for the unborn, a video about Our Lady and refreshments in Shepherd’s Hall.

The 28th annual Police Officer Christopher Hoban Memorial Run will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18, 10 a.m. at Hoban’s alma mater, Xaverian H.S., Bay Ridge.
The event, which is sponsored by the Xaverian Police Alumni, features the 5-mile run, kids dashes and the Tina Hoban Hat Walk. There is a party following the run featuring awards, T-shirts, music, barbecue, raffles and children’s activities. Catholic Charities’ Bereavement Services is hosting a training workshop for those who wish to start a bereavement support group on the parish level.
A choice of two sessions, morning or afternoon, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 10 in the parish center of Our Lady of Solace Church, Coney Island. Seats are limited and registration is required.
