Dear Editor: The current revision of the Tablet’s business model should not come as a surprise to anyone who follows the status of print media today. (Escalating costs, the challenge of digital media, etc.)
As it is now, parishes which have their own heavy financial burdens, are paying to have copies mailed to their parishioners. In the new plan, parishioners are asked to do what is logical and fair and pay for their own copies.
For well over a century, The Tablet has been delivering stories and perspectives which are not seen elsewhere.
I truly hope people will do the right thing and pay their way.
