Students from St. Edmund Prep H.S., Sheepshead Bay, were in Boston for the third year in a row to compete against more than 1,000 other students from schools around the world in a government simulation run by Harvard Model Congress. The 12 young men and women were responsible for all aspects of parliamentary procedure, bill writing and bill enactment in their respective committees for the House and/or Senate.
St. Edmund Prep Model Congress received three gavels, or awards, given to the best delegates – which were awarded to Chris Healy, Jared Rios and John McCarthy. They also went home with two honorable mentions – which were awarded to Jack Harkin and Vincent Carucci.
