Sister Miriam Christine McCullough, C.S.J., a Sister of St. Joseph, Brentwood, for 75 years, died on Feb. 3 at Maria Regina Residence in Brentwood, L.I.
She entered the congregation in 1945 from St. Ignatius Parish in Crown Heights. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Molloy College in Rockville Centre, L.I., and a master’s in reading specialization from CW Post.
Her ministries included the following: Immaculate Conception, Jamaica, 1947-51; St. Malachy, East New York, 1951-52; Holy Name of Mary, Valley Stream, L.I., 1952-53; Nativity of Our Blessed Lord, Bedford-Stuyvesant, 1953-57; St. Frances de Chantal, Wantagh, L.I., 1957-61; St. Angela Hall Academy, Clinton Hill, 1961-62; St. Christopher, Baldwin, L.I., 1962-67; Blessed Sacrament, North Valley Stream, L.I., 1967-69; St. Anne, Brentwood, L.I., 1969-70; St. Bernard, Levittown, L.I., 1970-80; St. Frances de Chantal, Wantagh, 1980-92; St. Edward the Confessor, Syosset, L.I., 1992-95; and Sacred Heart, North Merrick, L.I., 1995-2001.
Her funeral Mass was offered on Feb. 5 at Maria Regina Chapel in Brentwood. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery there.
