Remembering in Bensonhurst

On Sept. 11, the students of St. Athanasius School, Bensonhurst, under the direction of their principal, Diane Competello, held a remembrance ceremony to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11/01. The eighth-grade students reflected on the tragic events of that day by creating an acrostic poem, “Never Forget 9/11.” In addition, the students also remembered those who succumbed to 9/11-related illnesses and those who are continuing to battle 9/11-related diseases. The ceremony concluded with the students praying and singing “God Bless America.”
