EAST FLATBUSH — A family luncheon and parish Mass of thanksgiving was celebrated at St. Therese of Lisieux Church, East Flatbush, to honor former Tablet artist John McAlinden as he turned 90 years of age.

Mr. “Mac,” as he is known to generations of parishioners at Little Flower, was a staff artist for The Tablet for more than 40 years. He is best known for his annual Christmas cover artwork that used more than a thousand names to construct a manger scene…
