Sister Nancy Powell, S.C., 81, a Sister of Charity, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, for 62 years, died March 14 at Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax. Formerly known as Sister Anna Charles, she taught sixth grade at Our Lady of Angels, Bay Ridge, 1954-57.
She spent the rest of her years ministering in Halifax until her retirement to the motherhouse in 1986.
Poor health required a move to Parkstone Enhanced Care in 2002.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 19. Burial followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.
