Sister Mary Lawrence O’Keeffe, C.I.J., a member of the Congregation of the Infant Jesus, Nursing Sisters of the Sick Poor, for 71 years, died June 2. She was 96.

Formerly known as Sister Helen V. O’Keeffe, she served as treasurer of her community for 32 years. Locally, she served as manager of finance for the Nursing Sisters Home Visiting Service in Brooklyn from 1968-1985.

Her funeral Mass was celebrated June 8 in the Chapel of the Sisters of the Congregation of the Infant Jesus at Villa St. Joseph, Rockville Centre.
