New Paterson Priest Has Roots in Brooklyn

Father Jared Brogan celebrated his First Mass of thanksgiving Sunday, May 29, at Good Shepherd Church, Marine Park.
He was ordained for the Diocese of Paterson, N.J., the previous day by Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli in St. Philip the Apostle Church, Clifton.
Born in Brooklyn, he attended Good Shepherd School; Xavier H.S., Manhattan; St. Joseph’s College, Brooklyn; New York University; Immaculate Conception Seminary, Huntington; and Theological College, the National Seminary of The Catholic University of America, Washington.

Before pursuing the priesthood, he worked as a New York State-licensed speech-language pathologist for New York City Department of Education.

Father Brogan’s pastoral assignments include serving St. Thomas More parish, Convent Station; the Spanish Catholic Center, Washington; St. Margaret of Scotland parish, Morristown; and St. Mark the Evangelist parish, Hyattsville, Md.
He is the youngest of four sons born to Daniel and Mary Lou Brogan of Good Shepherd parish. He is the nephew of the late Father John Brogan, who directed the Propagation of the Faith Office for the Diocese of Brooklyn.
