John McGuinness, a resident of Blessed Trinity parish, Breezy Point, died April 24 after suffering a stroke. He was 62.
A graduate of Cathedral Prep, he was the owner of the McGuinness Irish Gift Shop in Marine Park. He also had a successful career with Con Edison until his retirement.
He was Past President of the Kings County Ancient Order of Hibernians and a founding member of the Baile na Gael meeting house in Gerritsen Beach.
Growing up in Resurrection parish, Gerritsen Beach, he moved to Garden City where he resided until fi ve years ago when he returned to Breezy Point.
He is survived by his wife, Denise, and their three children, Sean, Kaitlyn and Deidre.
