Deacon Louis Guastella, who was ordained for the Diocese of Brooklyn but served most recently in the Diocese of Las Vegas, Nev., died Feb. 21 in Las Vegas.

He was ordained as a deacon in March of 1984 and served in Our Lady of Miracles in Canarsie, and at St. Catherine of Genoa, Flatbush. In 1999, he moved to Las Vegas where he continued to serve as a deacon at Our Lady of Las Vegas, St. Christopher’s and Prince of Peace parishes.

He is survived by his sister Josephine.

A funeral service was conducted at Scalia Funeral Home, Staten Island. Burial was at Ocean View Cemetery, Staten Island.
