Letters to the Editor

Bright Christmas Thanks

Dear Editor: Greetings from Trinity Human Services Corporation (THSC)!

On behalf of our Executive Director, Father Pedro De Oliveira, O.F.M. Conv., and the staff and volunteers at THSC, I would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the Bright Christmas donation.

Your grant helped us provide Christmas gifts for many children in our neighborhood. You have helped us for many years in enhancing our children’s experience of a brighter and more joyous Christmas at Most Holy Trinity-St. Mary’s parish. This year we had over 400 children at our Christmas party. We hope the children and their families begin a grace-filled New Year.

Dear Editor: The spirit of Christmas was truly brighter, and spread and shared to many more people this year due to the generous donation from the Bright Christmas Fund. For the first time, we were able to host a Supper With Santa at St. Dominic’s, that for $5 per person fed 120 families and each child was able to get a gift. The night was wonderful with carols, games, and a special visit from Santa himself.

On Dec. 23, boxes of Christmas cookies were wrapped and delivered on the streets of New York City to people who are homeless, with over eight cases of cookies being given out through money from the Bright Christmas Fund.

And lastly, additional toys and gifts were bought and given to other youth in the community and shelter system that were almost missed for Christmas. It is amazing how much was stretched and hundreds were given the hope, love and message of Jesus, to share the Good News of the birth of Christ.
