Sister Mary Ellen Noone, C.S.J., a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, for 72 years died on May 23 at Maria Regina Residence, the sisters’ nursing home. Formerly Sister St. Matthew, she entered the Sisters of St. Joseph from Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish, Astoria.

Sister Mary Ellen served at the following parishes in the Diocese of Brooklyn: St. Joseph, Prospect Heights, 1949-50; Holy Name, Windsor Terrace, 1950-55; and St. James, Downtown Brooklyn, 1955-60.

Her funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph Renewal Center in Brentwood, L.I. Her burial followed in Calvary Cemetery, Woodside.
