What is a virtue that you hold true?

Olivia Morris, sophomore
St. Francis Prep

Altruism is an important virtue since we have to realize that people in the world need help and often have no means of getting it. This is important to me because I like to help others and it is a very rewarding experience to share what I have been lucky to get in life.

A virtue that is important to me is honesty. People today lie for so many “reasons” such as “to get out of trouble” or “be cool,” but that leads to continuous dishonesty. Be true to yourself and those around you.

I believe kindness is a virtue that brightens everyone’s day. You may never know what someone is going through so if I’m able to make someone smile, that is my priority.

Compassion is my most important virtue. This is important to me because compassion is a two-way street that always pays.

A virtue that I hold true is kindness. I like helping people. I think that it is crucial for people in this world – in this time – to have kindness in their hearts, even if they are small things. The world would be dark without kindness.
