This being my second time attending WYD, I’m really looking forward to the night vigil and the experience of camping outdoors. You can really feel positive energy and anticipation from everyone. From the boarding of the plane to the bus ride, everyone is very friendly, warm, open and welcoming, which reflects the overall mood and spirit of WYD.

I’m excited. This is a chance to renew my faith. I want to strengthen my faith in the
presence of the Pope and hopefully it will change me for the better.

My experience so far has been wonderful on the plane, now we are seeing a new country and I’m expecting to change with this experience.

As a college student in today’s society, it’s difficult finding a role model I can follow in my everyday life. Having already experienced WYD in Rio, I am looking forward to strengthening my faith again but this time following the steps of St. John Paul II.

The fact that we are finally here is a lot to take in. It’s going to be exciting. I’m looking forward to the whole pilgrimage, seeing Pope Francis, having dinner with Bishop DiMarzio, the Stations of the Cross. Just a lot of things that help to evangelize the youth and see what God has in store for us.

I have been sleeping and very tired from travelling. I look forward to learning about the Polish culture along with meeting people from all over the world and meet the Pope!

So far, we are on our way to Mass and I am excited to see what the week will bring. I can’t wait to meet new people and grow closer to God.

My WYD experience began in the JFK airport with an unfortunate delay. The weather delay did not ruin the spirit of the anxious pilgrims. I am looking forward to meeting other pilgrims that share the same belief and to strengthen my faith in the presence of Pope Francis.

Despite the delayed flight and ominous storm clouds, the growing excitement of the WYD pilgrims was obvious from our frequent strolls around the waiting area. As I embark on my first pilgrimage, I look forward to further witnessing this incredible excitement displayed by such massive numbers of fellow Catholics, so enthusiastic about our faith.
