Dear Editor: Oct. 31 was the last official day that we here at Sacred Heart in Bayside had well-loved Father Tom Brosnan as our pastor. He became the new pastor at Holy Innocents in Brooklyn on Nov. 1.

Father Tom celebrated a thanksgiving Mass on Oct. 21 to an over-flowing congregation (with standing room in the choir loft) followed by a reception in our church hall. His extraordinary homilies and pastoral reflections will be sorely missed as will be his loving compassion and often off-beat sense of humor.

We here at Sacred Heart were told that we had to share his gifts with another parish and that his “term limits” had run out. What most of us here at Sacred Heart thought of this decision is not suitable for print, but we were left with no choice. The new parishioners at Holy Innocents are getting a most wonderful new pastor and we ask that they open their hearts to him as we have here at Sacred Heart.
