The artistic talent at St. John’s Prep, Astoria, was on display at the Spring Concert. The Glee Club, Soloists, the Modern Dance Ensemble, the Jazz Rock Band, Spanish Dance, and the Bollywood Dance Team put on a dazzling show. The dance groups, under the direction of Debra Befumo, teacher, also performed on the Main Stage at the 9th Avenue International Festival. The Glee Club, under the direction of Simona Rodano, also performed there this year.

This gave senior soloists Anna Occhino, Christina Silva and Joerenz Bolina a chance to shine as they sang crowd favorites such as “We Are the Champions” and “Songbird.”

The Salsa piece, choreographed by Yamelee Dance Company member and 2002 alum Monika Izurieta, paid tribute to the music of Tito Puente, and closing the show was the energetic and talented Bollywood team, along with music from the tabla of Scott Lakrum.
