Camp Veritas is a week-long sleep away camp for Catholic middle school and high school students. They have several camps over the summer and for the past two years St. Sebastian’s Youth Ministry has gone to the August camp located on the camp grounds of Camp Lakota in Wurtsboro, N.Y.

THE APPROACHING SYNOD on “Young people, faith and vocational discernment” next month in Rome is of huge importance to the Church. If you had told me the role I would be playing in this task a year ago, I would not have believed you.
My hope for you is that you take the new school year with open arms and leave the past – in the past.
Pope Francis has ratified the members elected by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) to represent the United States at Synod of Bishops Oct. 3-28.
If I could take away one thing from working with LOVE, HALLIE Foundation, it would be this: Young people truly have the capacity to get meaningfully involved in any cause they choose if they are provided the tools and resources to do so.
I really enjoy the youth events, especially the Mother’s Day Bake Sale. This year, we partnered with La Baguette Bakery. We were able to sell Haitian patties at the bake sale. We sold out of almost everything, including the patties!
Young people want to know they are valued members of the Catholic Church and that their questions and struggles are taken seriously enough that someone will spend time with them discussing issues rather than simply repeating “prefabricated” responses, said delegates to a meeting in Rome.
During this year dedicated to the younger generations, Pope Francis asked that the meditations for his Good Friday service be written by young people.
Celebrating Palm Sunday Mass with thousands of young people, Pope Francis urged them to continue singing and shouting “hosanna” in the world, proclaiming the lordship of Jesus and following his example of outreach to the poor and suffering.
