TMLA’s Mariel Is Top Scorer At Tablet’s HS Press Awards

Every year, The Tablet invites all Catholic high school newspapers in the diocese to participate in a friendly competition. The editorial staff reads all submissions and chooses winners based on the quality of the work and how it serves the student body. The ceremony was a chance to honor the work of the young journalists as they strive to promote the values of truth and justice through student journalism.

During Women’s History Month, St. Joseph H.S. in Brooklyn hosted a Women’s Professional Day. More than 60 women professionals – including entrepreneurs, forensic scientists, artists, doctors, and professors – shared their experiences with the students.

Sister Eugenia Held Leadership Positions

Sister Eugenia Calabrese, C.S.J., a member of the Leadership Team of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, L.I., since 2006, and former principal of St. Joseph H.S., Downtown Brooklyn, died Nov. 1. She was in the 60th year of religious life.
