Every year, The Tablet invites all Catholic high school newspapers in the diocese to participate in a friendly competition. The editorial staff reads all submissions and chooses winners based on the quality of the work and how it serves the student body. The ceremony was a chance to honor the work of the young journalists as they strive to promote the values of truth and justice through student journalism.

Students from St. Agnes Academic H.S., College Point, and St. John the Baptist H.S., West Islip, L.I., participated on a Youth Preaching Weekend March 11-13. The young people joined the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville to celebrate National Catholic Sisters Week.

I believe that New Year’s resolutions are a great thing to do. Setting goals for yourself motivates you to continue climbing the mountain and reach its highest peak. It gives me, personally, drive and ambition.
