Mary Beth Artz, a New York State certified wildlife rehabilitator, goes into Prospect Park nearly every day to come to the aid of injured fish, birds, and animals, rescuing those snared in items carelessly discarded by humans that could harm them.

Dance Troupe Brings Mexican Culture to Life in Brooklyn
For a few minutes on a Saturday afternoon, Prospect Park became a Mexican pueblo. Performers from Mexico‘s largest traditional dance troupe, “Los Tecuanes de San Juan Bautista,” had their weekly rehearsal in the park on Sept. 7, drawing a festive crowd and curious passersby.
Young Faith in Action
Joliet’s St. Margaret Mary Church in Naperville, Ill. came to Brooklyn in July to assist Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens. The youth came as part of the Young Neighbors in Action program, which involves youth from across the country taking part in volunteer projects.
