Appeals Court Again Reinstates Texas Abortion Law

A U.S. court of appeals again reinstated the Texas abortion law Oct. 14, refusing a request from the U.S. Department of Justice to allow a lower court ruling blocking enforcement of the Texas law to stand.

Colorado, Louisiana Voters to Decide on Abortion Measures Nov. 3

Abortion is on the ballot in two states Nov. 3: Colorado and Louisiana. In Colorado, Proposition 115 would ban abortion beginning at 22 weeks of pregnancy. The measure includes exceptions to save the life of the pregnant woman but not for instances of rape or incest.

The Expression “Birth Mother” Is Misguided

Dear Editor: I read the story “Pro-Life Family Shows the Adoption Choice,” (Feb. 8 edition) with great interest, for my mother relinquished me for adoption within a few weeks of my birth. I find myself saddened by the report’s use of the term “birth mother,” which, sadly, is widespread.
