In spite of warm weather and summer time schedules, Generations of Faith activity across the diocese continues at many parishes with Block 1 parishes raising just over $9 million since the July 4 holiday.
Generations of Faith reached the $50 million mark – surpassing even the most lofty projections for the summer months.
Faith, tradition, culture and community – all came together at St. Bernard Church, Mill Basin, for the annual Italian feast of the Madonna del Carmine, also known as Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
During the early part of Generations of Faith, and as we continue campaigning, our pastors are often asked by people about the different ways they can support their parish.
A substantial portion of the monies contributed to the campaign will support the Catholic Youth Ministry Initiative.
Futures in Education hosted its annual golf outing, which raised over $300,000 for scholarships.
Generations of Faith has surpassed the $25 million mark with gifts from 4,000 parishioners, but more donations and volunteers are needed.
Generations of Faith, an $80 million capital campaign, aims “to strengthen the heart of our Diocese, fulfill the promise to those who have faithfully served us, and foster the formation of future generations of Catholics.”
