Futures in Education hosted its annual Angels on the Fairway Golf Outing on May 14 at The Creek in Locust Valley. The outing, which is in its 12th year, raised over $300,000, providing 200 Catholic school scholarships to underprivileged children in Brooklyn and Queens.

Msgr. Jamie Gigantiello, vicar for development, said, “The sun was truly shining on the 2015 Angels on the Fairway Golf Outing making the day not only enjoyable for those playing, but also most beneficial to the countless families who will be positively affected by the generosity of the Futures in Education donors.” At the evening reception, the keynote speaker was Marilyn Guzman, a single mother raising her 7-year-old son Adrian, who is currently receiving an Angel scholarship to attend Catholic school.

Guzman thanked those in attendance, as well as Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio.

The event also marked the inaugural presentation of the James P. Murphy Humanitarian Award to Mike Mulhearn, who is seen in the photo below.
