Has it really been 50 years since I first walked into The Tablet offices at One Hanson Pl. in Downtown Brooklyn? The numbers don’t lie. On Sept. 21, 1970, I reported to work for The Tablet. That is why I chose Sept. 21, 2020, to be my date of retirement.
Ed Wilkinson, the editor emeritus of The Tablet, is officially retiring on Sept. 21 — a date that has a special significance to him. It was on that date in 1970 that he started his career as a young, fresh-faced news reporter.
Dear Editor: First of all, congratulations to Ed Wilkinson on almost five decades of spreading the news in The Tablet. That is truly amazing when you look back at how fast the 48 years went by. I loved the two-page article on the celebration at World Communications Day.
