Walter Campbell, board chair of Our Lady of Trust Catholic Academy, Canarsie, and the members of the Campbell family presented a check to the Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens for the educational benefit of students at Our Lady of Trust Catholic Academy.
The Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens announced that it has re-launched its signature Grant Program, awarding 36 new grants totaling nearly $300,000.
More than 700 people of good will showed their support for Catholic education and evangelization by attending the annual Bishop’s Christmas Luncheon at Russo’s On the Bay, Howard Beach, Dec. 7.
At Bishop Mugavero Residence for Retired Priests in Douglaston, there are currently 37 priests and bishops who have served their ministry for the Diocese of Brooklyn for a total of 1,907 years, ranging from 38 years ordained to 70 – an average of 53 years.
There are more than 100 million Americans living today who graduated from a Catholic school. If every graduate contributed a few dollars to a Catholic education fund, there would be no need to close or merge any Catholic school.

A substantial portion of the monies contributed to the campaign will support the Catholic Youth Ministry Initiative.
