The Catholic Youth Organization of Brooklyn and Queens hosted its annual girls’ volleyball diocesan championships May 13 at Msgr. McClancy H.S., East Elmhurst, and May 20 at St. Andrew Avellino, Flushing.

Young Journalists Refine Their Skills at Tablet’s H.S. Press Awards

“Teens talk to teens differently,” said Paron. “That’s why high school journalism matters.You can talk to other young people and get a story that no one else can get. If you’re not talking to them, that means 26 percent of the population isn’t getting their voice heard and part of the tenet in journalism is to be a voice to the voiceless.”

Former Miss New York Visits Glendale Academy

Brother Charles Marcellin, F.M.S.

Brother Charles Marcellin, F.M.S., a member of the Marist Brothers of the Schools for 63 years, died at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, N.Y., Feb. 19. He was 81.

Brother Francis Thomas O’Malley, F.M.S

Brother Francis Thomas O’Malley, F.M.S., who taught for over 55 years in New York Marist Schools, died at De LaSalle Home in Lincroft, N.J., Feb. 9. He was 86.
