Tablet TALK: Midwood Children Donate Toys

Dolls, race cars, board games and even an electric keyboard will be going to some happy children later this month thanks to the students at Midwood Catholic Academy, Flatlands. The school’s Aquinas Club sponsored a Christmas toy drive in cooperation with the FDNY to benefit children living at the Fort Hamilton Army Base. The Catholic Teachers Association (CTA) is looking for new members, specifically Catholic men and women who currently teach or have taught in the public school system in Brooklyn or Queens.
All are welcome to attend the CTA’s annual Christmas Dinner Dance, Dec. 16, 6 p.m. at Russo’s on the Bay in Howard Beach. The cost is $95 per person.

Walk through the streets of Queens Village with the good people of Incarnation Church to announce the coming of the Savior!
The parish will host its annual Christmas Carol Procession, Dec. 12, starting at 6 p.m. Children dressed as the Holy Family will lead the crowd through the neighborhood singing carols. Pony rides for the children will also add to the fun. The night closes with hot chocolate, cookies and more caroling in the auditorium.

Sister Ave Clark, O.P., is bringing her Heart to Heart Ministry around Brooklyn and Queens this Advent. She’s leading an Advent Mission at Most Precious Blood, Bath Beach, Dec. 3, 10 and 17 at 11 a.m. each day. The theme is “Mary’s Love.”
She will lead a brunch and lunch retreat at St. Gregory the Great, Crown Heights, Dec. 12, 9:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m., with the theme “Love’s Journey.”

St. Andrew the Apostle, Bay Ridge, recently started an altar servers program, and installed the first group of new servers on the Feast of Christ the King.
