Congratulations to all of the new altar servers at Our Lady of Miracles Church, Canarsie. Father Jean Delva, pastor, installed the 25 boys and girls, ages eight to 15, last month. The children underwent two months of training to prepare for this ministry.
Sister Doryne M. Bermoy, F.L.P., the director of faith formation, and several teachers and parishioners of helped guide the children along the way.

Days before Pope Francis traveled to Africa, pilgrims from the parish of St. Therese of Lisieux, East Flatbush, under the spiritual guidance of their pastor, Father Michael Gribbon, traveled to Italy on a 10-day pilgrimage where they were privileged to be a part of a papal audience. Prior to their audience with him, Pope Francis uncharacteristically traveled twice around St. Peter’s Square. The pilgrims were elated.
