This Saturday will be a proud moment in Brooklyn and Queens as 13 men are ordained for the diocesan priesthood. While this weekend is all about them, let’s not forget that these men have been able to hear and respond to God’s call because of the foundation of love and support they received at home.
So this week’s Tip of the Tablet TALK Top Hat goes to the parents and families of our ordinands.
As Father James Rodriguez, diocesan vocation director, says in this week’s Sunday’s Scriptures column, every parent is a vocation director.
May God bless you for directing your sons’ to keep their hearts and minds open to the will of God.
Corona Couple Celebrates 65 Years of Marriage
Warm congratulations to Antonia and Enrico Agricola of St. Leo Church, Corona, on celebrating 65 years of holy matrimony.
The Agricolas, left, exchanged nuptial vows in the Church of Santo Antonino in Campagna, Salerno, Italy, on June 16, 1948, and celebrated with about 150 family members and friends at the local community center.
Antonia and Enrico came to the U.S. in 1956 with their four children – all under the age of seven – and settled in Corona. They have been faithful members of St. Leo parish and a beautiful witness of married love all of these years.
The priests and people of the parish rejoice with Antonia and Enrico and their family, and wish them many more years of happiness. God bless you! (Photo courtesy Father William Hoppe)
