Summer of Discontent

Dear Editor: Re: The Summer of Love column (July 1-July 8), there was not one thing about the Summer of Love (1967) that was for Christ. It was all anti-Christ and they wanted everyone in the world to be against establishment, Church and God.

It was anti- marriage, parents, rules, children, teachers, society, authority, decency, goodness and God. It was for drugs, porn, disrespect, destruction of family, marriage, police, evil, moral decay, freeloading and entitlement.

Sadly, today it is worse than it was then because every family from that era has lost one or more members to the drug war. Many have lost members to the moral decay war and it has reached its evil into the generation after them.

The world has been at war since then with alcohol, drugs and moral decay and we are still losing family members and happy times because the adults in the family are not united but divided as was the intention.

The Church is divided with the liberals and the conservatives. Those who want to follow the teachings of God and the Ten Commandments, and those who would not even be able to recite them. Those who do not try to change them and those who want to be politically correct when teaching them.

The name “The Summer of Love” should be called “The Summer of Destruction” because that is what it was. They infiltrated our countries, homes, houses of worship then and are still doing so today. They want to rid us of all seniors who can remember and keep trying to teach and show our young what real love and dedication to family, country and Church is about.

Many grandparents get attacked not only by family, but also by politicians and sadder, even by some religious. Yes, there are many places to get help, and for the young who truly want it, they can study both sides.

Listen to your grandparents who are always there for you and look at your parents. If both sides are in agreement, you will be very lucky and hopefully are on the right road.

If not, discern and ask the Holy Spirit to show you who has been the strongest tower for you throughout the years, taken care of the elders and babies for years and has had the love and marriages that last forever.

Don’t think that the legalization of pot is a good thing. It is to get rid of those who were not killed by abortion and another way for “The Summer of Love’s” destruction to continue and grow stronger today.

  1. For those of us who were young during “The Summer of Love,” it was a time of great hope for peace in the world. It was a time that gives most of us happy memories in contrast to Ms. Ruocco’s diatribe.
