• “Death Comes for the Archbishop,” by Willa Cather
  • This fiction novel celebrates the natural beauty of New Mexico and the importance of the adventures of two French Catholic missionaries in contributing to the social life of the area. This book was inspired by the lives and careers of the real-life nineteenth century French priests Archbishop Jean-Baptiste Lamy and Father Joseph Machebeuf who came to New Mexico.
• “The Screwtape Letters,” by C.S. Lewis
  • Catholics quote C.S. Lewis a lot. (He’s all over the YOUCAT, Youth Cathechism of the Catholic Church). This book is a series of letters from one Devil to another: Screwtape advises his ‘nephew’ on how to tempt an average man who lives in England during World War 2. The dialogue is amusing, while humbly reminding you that it’s important to watch out for the ‘everyday sins’ as it is for the big ones.
• “I Choose The Sky: A Scriptural Devotion For Women,” by Emily Wilson
  • A simple devotional that leaves any young Christian woman inspired by the stories of women mentioned in the Bible. After each chapter is a reflection portion that is perfect for a simple summer day cuddled up next to a cup of coffee.
