Seventh and eighth graders from St. Nicholas of Tolentine School, Jamaica, began Holy Week by reenacting Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem and the Passion at the 10:45 a.m. Mass on Palm Sunday.
Andrew Chui, the eighth-grade student who played Jesus, entered the church and was greeted by students from the parish religious education program waving palms.
The students brought the Gospel to life when they acted out the Passion, including scenes from Jesus’ appearance before the high priest and assembly, Peter’s denial, the dialogue between Jesus and Pilate, and the Passion of Christ.
