Educational Excellence, Faith-Filled Community
Are you looking for an outstanding place for your child to learn and grow intellectually and spiritually?
St. Kevin Catholic Academy in Flushing is an educational community of faith and commitment, and may be the place for your child!
St. Kevin’s offer a safe and welcoming environment for nursery through eighth-grade students. Teachers work with children to provide opportunities for serving others, building moral character and encouraging spiritual development.
Thoughtful, Community-Conscious
For more than 70 years, St. Kevin has been educating elementary and middle school students, who are taught to be thoughtful and community-conscious individuals. Students receive caring instruction, not just in literacy studies and math, but also in religion, physical education, art, music, technology and Spanish. Teachers challenge each child to reach his or her highest potential using the Common Core standards-based curriculum. The school’s junior high students are prepared for success as they enter high school.
Classrooms are each equipped with SMART Boards and students have access to iPads and one-to-one Chromebook technology. A new STREAM Lab, featuring the LabLearner system, is equipped with resources that allow students to supplement their classroom experiences through problem solving and project-based activities to develop deeper levels of understanding of science, technology, religion, engineering, arts education and mathematics.
Additionally, kindergarten through eighth-grade students are given sacramental preparation, and are encouraged to participate in choir, band, orchestra as well as Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) sports and scouting programs that apply to their age.
The school also offers full- and half-day nursery classes (age 3), and a free, full-day Pre-K for All Program, which includes breakfast and lunch. Before and after-school programs are available for all students.
