St. Camillus Catholic Academy, Rockaway Park has educated the children of the Rockaways and Broad Channel since opening as a parish school in 1951.

St. Camillus is a “little treasure in the Rockaways,” providing small classes with caring teachers. The academy’s personal setting allows teachers to instruct students and meet their individual needs.

Catholic Tradition
St. Camillus is an academy that is rooted in the Catholic tradition. The members of the school community believe that Jesus Christ is part of everything they do in the academy.

The academy holds daily religion classes and daily prayer. Students also attend monthly Masses together, participate in Christian service projects and receive sacra- mental instruction.

The academy strives to educate children academically, spiritually, physically and emotionally.

Parents and Teachers
St. Camillus is a family-centered environment. Parents are involved in the academy through volunteering and committees.

Teachers are dedicated to the academy and the students they teach. The faculty follows the NYS Common Core Standards.

Enhanced Academics
Academics are enhanced with classes in art, taught by our artist in residence; physical education; band through Paul Effman; and two school-wide musical productions. The academy also has an active student drama club that produces a show each spring.

Registration begins on Monday, Jan. 26. Open house sessions will be conducted: Sunday, Jan. 25, following the 11:30 a.m. family Mass and Monday, Jan. 26, 8 to 11 a.m.
