The Bishop Kearney H.S. indoor track team had an impressive showing at the annual Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA sectional finals held Jan. 31 at The Armory, Manhattan. Senior Tessy Gallagher won the 3,000-meter race; her twin, Jackie, won the 1,500-meter race; and their cousin, sophomore Colleen Gallagher, won the 1,000-meter race. The relay team, composed of the three Gallaghers and sophomore Erica Thompson, took second place in the 4×800-meter relay and set a personal record in the event by four seconds.

National Signing Day on Feb. 3 was an eventful day at Nazareth H.S., East Flatbush. Senior football player Tahriq Gordon announced that he will be attending Stony Brook University, L.I., this fall, and senior girls’ basketball player Niya Johnson signed on to play at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Va. Both have been Tablet All-Stars.
