Almost 50 women religious were guests of Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio and the diocese as they marked significant anniversaries of their membership in their respective orders and congregations. Bishop DiMarzio was the main celebrant of a Mass of thanksgiving in the chapel at Immaculate Conception Center, Douglaston. Following the liturgy, the jubilarians and their families were treated to dinner in the center’s dining room.
Sisters of Diocese Celebrate Their Anniversaries
Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio celebrated a Mass of thanksgiving and hosted a dinner for religious sisters who are celebrating significant anniversaries in the communities this year. Above, he congratulates Sister Mary Georgine Ayers, O.P., a member of the Amityville Dominicans for 70 years.
I would appreciate being in contact with Sister Mary Thomas More, formerly Ann Fahey, and formerly of Wickatunk NJ and my husband’s graduate student at Kean College. She went on to NY after I lost touch with her, to pursue a doctorate in psychology.
